How we started!
THE BEGINNING
In the 80’s the name of the church was originally International Christian Charismatic Fellowship. Pastor Abraham Biangco arrived in Norfolk on February 8, 1988 to pastor this church. This congregation rented a building named Tidewater Assembly of God Building where they held Sunday afternoon Worship services. Pastor Abraham’s wife, Pastora Leah, arrived later that year on December 5, 1988.
Around September 1989, the church took over full use and the ownership for the Tidewater Christian Academy Building. The Assemblies of God District officially granted the merging of Tidewater Assembly of God congregation with the Filipino Christian Church in November 1992.
In the year of 2003, the church embraced the G12 Vision. In March 2013, the church inaugurated a new building and formerly changed their name to Doulos for Christ.
G12 VISION
G12 (Government of 12) Vision is a vision of discipleship that Jesus Christ lived while He was here on earth. Jesus chose twelve disciples, formed them and sent them out to do the will of God for His Kingdom.
As disciples of Jesus, Christians are called to do the same as Jesus commanded in Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
As we serve the Lord, we believe that He brings restoration, healing, provision and blessings to our lives, families, communities and nations.
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2 (NIV)
